Bemidji Stops 2-Game Skid; Lumberjacks Knock Off Detroit Lakes 6-2

The Bemidji Lumberjacks hockey team broke a two-game skid Tuesday to hand Detroit Lakes at 6-2 setback on the losers ice.

Bemidji scored three times in the first period to take a 3-1 lead and expanded a 4-2 advantage with two in the third.

Jesse Nemgar led the way with two goals and three assists for five points.

Jared Bergquist, Joe Welle, Luke Burns and Kris Maggert scored the other goals.

Welle’s and Maggert's came on power plays in the first and third periods.

Derek Dudgeon had only 13 stops. DL’s Chris Widne had 36.

The win lifted Bemidji to 12-11-1. The Jacks close their regular season tomorrow hosting Coleraine at Nymore Gardens.

The B Team also won 2-1 on goal by Steve Heller and Jordan Manick. Axel Osborn rejected 12 shots. DL had 33 stops.
