The East Grand Forks Senior High boys hockey team has a top line that poses a big scoring threat to opposing teams.

Thief River Falls witnessed it in action Tuesday night, as the Green Wave downed the Prowlers 3-1 in Section 8A play in the East Grand Forks Civic Center.

Seniors Joey Wikoff and John Grabanski and sophomore Jake Useldinger combined for the three goals for Senior High. All three scores came in the third period.

“Their first line is tough,” Thief River Falls coach Tim Bergland said. “They have a couple of nice lines you need to pay attention to.”

Thief River Falls led 1-0 entering the final period. Jesse Castle scored midway through the second on a breakaway, firing a slap shot that bounced off Green Wave goalie Alex Christiansen's pad and into the net.

The Green Wave picked up momentum 3 minutes, 49 seconds into the third period when Wikoff picked off a pass, weaved through defenders and scored for a 1-1 tie.
