The game was close all the way. The teams were scoreless after one period and tied 1-1 after two. The score was still tied heading into the final minute of play when junior forward Riley Horgan of Mound-Westonka tallied the go-ahead goal, at 16:37. Warroad pulled their goalie; but, Horgan logged an empty net tally. For Mound-Westonka, Horgan had 2 goals, 1 assist.
Blake 3 Thief River Falls 2 OT
Blake led 2-1 after two periods; but, Thief River Falls tied the game, 2-2, on a goal from senior forward Aaron Langen at 3:59 of the third period. In overtime, just before time expired, junior forward Nick Brunette of the Bears logged the game-winner at 7:59. Blake outshot Thief River Falls 41-32. For Blake, junior forward Josh Birkholz had 1 goal, 2 assists.
